Phillies Super Star tipped to win…..

Following his addition by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani is probably a Californian and might win MVP. The Dodgers have three front-runners for MVP: Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Mookie Betts. Unless, that is, voters abstain from supporting them for that same reason. That’s where a player like Bryce Harper, the superstar of the Philadelphia Phillies, enters the picture. Harper will be vying for the National League Most Valuable Player award, even if MVP voters would rather to vote for Ohtani, Freeman, and Betts.

The MVP twice, in 2015 and 2021, took home the trophy. He had a slashing season with the Phillies in 2021.309/.429/.615, with an MLB-high 42 doubles, 35 home runs, and 84 RBI. MLB.com projected the major award winners for 2024 as the season got closer. Despite none of the Los Angeles trio “distinguishing” themselves as the obvious MVP, Anthony Castrovince anticipated that Harper will earn the National League MVP.

Castrovince also brought up Ronald Acuna Jr., Matt Olson, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Corbin Carroll, the NL Rookie of the Year who may potentially be the MVP. Harper recovered from Tommy John surgery without missing a game during the previous season. Despite missing the first part of the season, he slashed.293/.401/.499 with 21 home runs. What’s even more amazing is that he kept swinging the bat at that caliber. Harper would rank among the all-time greats with a third MVP.

Three MVP trophies or more have been won in the careers of Mike Trout, Barry Bonds, Albert Pujols, Alex Rodriguez, Mike Schmidt, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Stan Musial, Joe DiMaggio, and Jimmie Fox. Harper would become unquestionably one of the greatest players to walk onto the diamond with another victory.
