Ibrahim Sangare, a record-breaking acquisition for Nottingham Forest, will not be available for Saturday’s match against Manchester United. Sangare played 70 minutes in his team’s unexpected 3-1 victory over Newcastle United, stifling the Magpies’ midfield and successfully launching counterattacks from deep. Nuno Espirito Santo secured his first victory since taking over for Steve Cooper a week ago, but the Portuguese manager will be without his midfield enforcer.

He now has five bookings for the season after fouling Alexander Isak in the 26th minute. Due to his warning, Sangare will miss this weekend’s match against Erik ten Hag’s club.

More aggravation for the Reds comes from Newcastle’s victory in Forest’s 18th league match of the season. Premier League bookings are reset after the 19th game. Sangare, who apparently drew interest from Liverpool, became the club’s star arrival in the summer.

The midfielder’s prime is yet ahead of Forest, but Nuno praised the £32 million player after the team defeated Newcastle and gave him the go-ahead to continue after his recent fitness setbacks. “I know him, of course, and I expect him to help the team,” he remarked. He can be really useful, especially given his position as a midfield player.”

Anthony Elanga made an impact elsewhere, putting the Magpies to the sword with two assists. On Saturday, the former Manchester United player will play against his old team for the first time since leaving for a £15 million transfer in July.
