Recall that just a few months prior, The Rock said that a match between himself and Roman Reigns was “locked” for WrestleMania 39. Needless to say, that match never materialized. Instead, in an effort to wrap up his narrative, Cody Rhodes confronted The Tribal Chief.
Since he was unable to succeed, a significant portion of his narrative has focused on his struggle to return to WrestleMania 40 in order to attempt again. At the same time, Rhodes has stated that he is not concerned about Rock’s continued hinting that he would make an appearance in Philadelphia.
Rock has been in the news a lot lately for a variety of reasons, from a fascinating new film project to political parties reportedly contacting him about running for president. However, one comment on a post about his meeting with Make A Wish kids drew our attention:
“My time with Jayden was amazing because I adore professional wrestling! I let him in on a small secret that might or might not have to do with a guy coming back to the WWE to lay the SmackDown on all of their sugar butts”.
The Royal Rumble and the official beginning of WrestleMania season are rapidly approaching. It would be best if The Rock returned to WWE sooner rather than later.
