Blinksportsnews247Newcastle United’s Dan Burn has beaten some of his best opponents this season, including Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
However, Burn considers Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka to be his toughest opponent in the Premier League.
Speaking to Ben Foster’s podcast, Burn answered a question about the toughest player he has faced in the league.
“He sucks, always. He’s very, very good. Because it’s a constant now that you’re playing against inverted wing players,” Burn said.
“So 20 years ago you played against a right wing [left wing-back], you showed him that side and you crossed him, but it’s not the end of the world. Whereas now you’re playing against wingers who, if you send them inside, they’ll come inside and shoot.
“You’re like, ‘Okay, I’ll cover that’, but then they drive down the line and cross it anyway. I think Saka is the most consistent for me.”
Saka has been on fire this season, directly contributing 20 goals and constantly threatening opposing defenders.
He probably should have had one or two more assists on Sunday against Brighton, as he created some great chances, but Arsenal were a bit wasteful in attack on the day – even though they won 2-0 in the end.
Perhaps it should come as no surprise that so many players, including Burn, often resort to trying to take the Arsenal man out of the game.
